Welcome to BlogRhythmic. I hope that this blog will become a valuable resource for IT news, trends and helpful information. To help nudge it along the way, I’ll start with some security news from Microsoft.
As a part of “Patch Tuesday” today, Microsoft included updates for two critical security issues, MS08-001 and MS08-002. While the risk is low for those protected by a firewall (such as most office users), MS08-002 in particular fixes a security exploit that would allow a malicious user with physical access to a workstation to bypass most security controls. Windows XP and Vista users should be run Windows Update as soon as possible to ensure they are protected, or enable Automatic Updates.
Better yet, you might consider a Managed Care plan with patch management built in, so that you don’t have to worry about it.
